Melton Manor – Kwandwe Game Reserve

Melton Manor is an exclusive colonial style safari lodge with four luxuriously appointed suites each with en suite bathroom. This spacious u-shaped lodge is characterised by high ceilings and deep, cool verandas, each overlooking the central courtyard and its large outdoor swimming pool. The luxurious suites each have their own very spacious bathroom and innovative “butler hatches” for discreet room service by staff waiting on guests.

The fabulous guest areas comprise feature fireplaces for evenings spent relaxing with a glass of wine or reading a good novel relaxing after a day in the game reserve. The interactive, contemporary farm-style kitchen is open plan so that our chefs can entertain guests with wholesome delicious cuisine and specialities with Eastern Cape flair.

Melton Manor is situated in Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, which is a 54,000 acre/ 22,000 ha wilderness in the malaria-free Eastern Cape, which has one of the largest land to people ratios in all of South Africa. Approximately 65 km (40 miles) from the coast, 160 km (100 miles) from Port Elizabeth, located in near proximity to the Garden Route. Kwandwe is easily accessible by flights (daily scheduled or private charter) onto the Reserve’s private airstrip. It is a 2-hour scenic drive from Port Elizabeth Airport and is perfect for self-drive guests due to excellent roads (chauffeur service also available). Kwandwe is the only game reserve in South Africa in to which guests may arrive and leave in their own private jet. This makes Kwandwe one of the most exclusive family game reserves in the world, being malaria free and accommodating all of the famous Big Five – black & white rhino, elephant, lion, buffalo and leopard.
